BROADACRES GOT "Enterprise" TALENT
Broadacre Primary’s enterprising pupils and their parents, as part of the City’s Make Your Money Grow programme, have organised a ‘Broadacres Got Talent’ show for the school. The pupils have taken control directing their parents to organise a venue, posters to advertise it, ticket sales and raffle prizes from local businesses. The Broadacre “enterprise” team are planning on creating a profit from ticket sales, refreshments and also by selling DVDs of the show too to invest back into their enterprise activities in the school.
The Make Your Money Grow programme is a new and exciting opportunity for parents and their children to work together turning a £150 loan into profit! Based on the hugely successful “Make £5 Blossom” programme delivered by Hull Ready, ‘Make Your Money Grow’ has brought parents and children together with a local Business Mentor who is helping them develop enterprise skills, business acumen and most of all, turn a huge profit!
During the 9 week programme, groups of parents and children are attending short workshops held in the school to develop enterprise skills, such as communication, teamwork and creativity, before having the opportunity to work with their children on new and innovative business ideas which they will make a reality. With the support of their business partner, Maureen Foers OBE Managing Director Durban Ltd and colleagues from Rotherham Ready they are well on the way to achieving their target of putting on a show to remember and to pay pack the initial loan.
The show takes place at Kingswood College on Friday November 26th, doors open at 6:00 for a 6.30pm start.
Tickets are only £3 for adults, including a raffle ticket, and children’s tickets are £1
