Legends In A Lunchtime

Malet Lambert Young Chamber (MLYC) attended the Institute of Directors Luncheon with Andrew Neil, at the start of Business Week. They write:

"It was an amazing experience to meet other business people at this event.  It has really helped us to understand the  business world and give us an aim of where we want to be in the future.
We had the privilege of listening to the special guest speaker, Andrew Neil, who talked about the economy and how politics would impact on us in the future.  We also talked to people  about the Young Chamber and what it had to offer.  We found that networking skills are important in business  as we had many opportunities to speak to other businesses and they could find out what we are doing in school.  We also gained confidence as it was quite daunting, seeing all the businesses represented at the event.
Altogether this was a fantastic experience. We would like to take this opportunity of thanking Hull City Council for inviting us.   We are looking forward to making the Young Chamber successful within our school.

We are a group of enterprising young individuals who aim to develop enterprising and business qualities within Malet Lambert pupils. We organise various activities ranging from making smoothies in York with Year 8 pupils to running enterprise days within our school.
We are trying to accomplish our targets by involving young students in the school with the activities and events that we have to offer. Many of our events include marketing and selling our own product or brand within a team therefore developing our communication, business and creative skills.
We offer a range of helpful information to guide young business people to possibly even creating their own business in the future. To see what business qualities you need to become successful, visit the Enterprising Qualities section of the site.
