Hull Ready

Hull Ready is an innovative project for Hull primary schools based on the award winning enterprise education programme Rotherham Ready.  This training programme is a must for school leaders and teaching staff who want an opportunity to broaden their understanding of ‘enterprise’ and see how it can enhance teaching and learning in Primary schools.
The project is made up of various elements that include;
 
Inspire & The Big 13
To date over 40 primary schools have signed up to the Hull Ready project and over 80 teachers have taken part in the Inspire training days to become enterprise champions for their primary schools. The training days have proved very successful with not only new schools signing up but existing ones also sending additional teachers across the different key stages to help embed The Big 13 skills into the curriculum.
 
Make £5 Blossom
30 primary schools have been linked with 30 local businesses during the first three runs of Make £5 Blossom; this has seen school children receive a £150 loan from their business partner to run their own mini enterprise for a term. The businesses have then acted as mentors for the children and supported them with their idea before a celebration event is held to see the children share their enterprise journey and repay the original loan. Businesses large and small have supported the project with many leaving their original loan in the Youth Enterprise Bank so they can be involved for another round of Make £5 Blossom at a later date. By embedding enterprise skills into the primary curriculum, pupils, teachers and business professionals have come together to form ground-breaking partnerships.
 
Warwick Award
The Warwick Award provides a quality framework through which schools can review, analyse and develop their enterprise education. In addition, it encourages school self-review, in line with school improvement practice, and action planning for further development.
