Hull Ready is an Enterprise Education programme which is about creating active, purposeful and enterprising young people.
Backed by funding from Yorkshire Forward and running in partnership with Rotherham Ready, who have successfully rolled the programme out for the past few years in Rotherham, Hull Ready are involving Hull Primary schools and aims to engage their young people in developing enterprise skills.
The programme is developing personal skills such as creativity and risk management and opening young people’s eyes to the diversity of enterprise.

Hull primary schools teachers are getting the opportunity to attend `Inspire` teacher training days that will help prepare them to deliver enterprising activities within their own school curriculum as their schools enterprise champion.
Schools that get involved with Hull Ready will also have the chance to take part in the “Make £5 Blossom” project, which will see schools linked with local businesses. Each school is given a loan of £150 by their business partner and the children can then come up with an enterprising venture to try and make a profit. Schools will then share their experiences at an end event and the loan is repaid, all profit made on the initial £150 will be for the school to use as they see fit.
Hull Ready will also be working with The University of Warwick's Centre for Education and Industry towards achieving the Excellence in Enterprise Education award for all schools and colleges. The Centre for Education and Industry at the University of Warwick has been closely involved in reviewing and evaluating enterprise education since 1999.
The ‘Excellence in Enterprise Education Award’ has been designed particularly for those schools that have, or are interested in developing an ‘enterprise agenda’ within their schools.
CEI aims to make the application for the award as simple as possible, with a focus upon self-review and self-assessment. Assessment sheets allow a school to estimate an enterprise ‘score’ before making the submission. If this indicates a committed delivery of enterprise education themes, then a submission for the award may be made to CEI.
