Hull Business Development Fund Ltd

Hull Business Development Fund Ltd administer the Acorn Fund from their office in the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce. It is designed to support all forms of enterprise across the City of Hull. It works closely with other business support agencies in the City as well as regional ones where joint working will benefit the client.
Its main aim is to help generate new business start ups and increased employment opportunities in the City. Grants and ‘soft loans’ are available to those that can show they have a viable and sustainable project that will increase employment in the City. Funds can only be used for capital purchases which will support the growth of the business with the exception of vehicles.
Maximum grants are £5,000 and loans £10,000. A simple application form needs to be completed together with a brief business plan and applications can be turned around very quickly. Full details are on the Funds website where application forms can be accessed. It is intended to link the work of the Acorn fund with the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank
