Hull Business Development And Renewal

Hull Business Development And Renewal

Hull Business Development is a dedicated team offering advice and assistance to businesses throughout the City. The team is able to advise on sources of local, regional, national and European financial assistance. Hull Business Development also endeavours to help in many other areas, including providing business advice, counselling, planning, information and training issues all on a free and confidential basis.
With financial support from Hull City Council, the European Commission and a number of other sources, the newly introduced Acorn Fund is a brand new package of support for local businesses. Delivered by the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce, provisional grants of up to £15,000 and loans up to £50,000 rising, in exceptional cases, up to £150,000 will form the main elements of the Acorn Fund. Loan guarantees, equity participation and help to relocate or expand within the City are also available.
A key aim of the fund is to encourage start-ups and support the expansion of SME’s, with an emphasis on help for businesses unable to access funding through conventional sources. The fund is not there to act as a substitute for bank funding for example. Hull Business Development are partners in the Hull Youth Enterprise Strategy Group and ensure linkages between the Acorn Fund and the Youth Enterprise Bank.
