F11

The Formula One Technology Challenge sets the goal to use CAD/CAM software to design and race the F1 car of the future.
F1 in Schools complements the Curriculum at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, particularly in engineering, science, mathematics, design, technology and ICT.
In particular it:
• Develops key skills including presentation, marketing, business planning, budgeting and communication.
• Provides work-related learning through mimicking processes of design, analysis, manufacturing, testing and racing, confidence and self-esteem building. The challenge can be mapped against the design and technology curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4. In particular it:
• Can be used to follow GCSE Engineering by producing a design specification and solution to make an engineering product.
• May be mapped to A-level Product Design and Design Technology.
• Can use cross–curricular themes to work with other departments.
• Can be mapped to the Engineering Diploma.
