Hull City Council has a dedicated IAG development team who specialise in using innovative and creative approaches to delivering careers related learning and events for young people. The experienced multidisciplinary team have a range of backgrounds covering education, careers guidance, business, and theatre.
The team is able to deliver a range of services and enterprise activities to schools and other institutions as well as creating bespoke packages. Services include:
1. Enterprise days
2. Off-timetable learning days
3. Industry days
4. Educational drama performances
5. Consultancy and planning for careers and enterprise education
6. Youth involvement and learner voice
7. ‘Electronic Real Game’ training and delivery
8. Area Prospectus training and support
9. U-explore training and delivery
10. Sessions for Gifted and Talented Students
11. Creative team building
12. IAG training for staff
13. Advice on careers information and software
14. Specialist sessions on challenging stereotypes
15. Careers events and mock interview days
The IAG Development team is also responsible for supporting institutions in the region to achieve the Hull 14-19 Partnership IAG Gold Standard for Careers Education. This is a local quality award which is mapped against the 12 National Quality Standards for Young Peoples Information Advice and Guidance. 14 Institutions in the Hull Area have achieved this award to date.
