Co-operative Group

The Co-operative Group is the largest consumer co-operative in the world, illustrating how a membership owned, governed and managed enterprise can be successful but still  remain true to its values and principles.

The Groups family of business features travel, pharmacy, food, financial, legal, and funeral divisions it is also the largest farmer in the UK. As these operations are all owned by our member customers the Society retains a local identity.

This is further borne out by the many members and staff who stand for elected office on the Committees and Boards which manage and move the organisation forward whilst also making it fully accountable. The elected members also serve as excellent ambassadors for the Group and help with the task of returning some of our profits back into our communities through charities, projects and initiatives in your area.
